Fashion Star Week 4

This week Fashion Star was all about “It’s Getting Hot in Here”. The task was to design something that is new and fresh for the summer. The designer were paired up into teams to create a cohesive look for the summer. They were given a theme to work around: tropical vacation, pool party and fun in the city. Needless to say the designers came up with some really cool styles. Here are my favorites…

Designer JesseRay Vasquez and Garrett Gerson were my absolute favorite tonight. That maxi dress for a pool party in the summer killed it! The nude and pink color-block maxi dress looked very comfortable and will compliment a wide range of body types. Macy’s fought Saks Fifth Avenue and won with a purchase of $60,000. Absolutely stunning and you can find it by clicking here!

The other 2 designs that I fell in love with were created by Cassandra Hobbins and Johanna Hernandez which both were purchased by Express. The tied-eyed  maxi dress by Cassandra was absolutely divine. Again I am a huge fan of designs that will be flattering to many body types. You can easily style this dress with flats, wedges and strapy heels. You can find it by clicking here. Congrats Cassandra!

Johanna Hernandez’s jumpsuit matched the theme fun in the city perfectly! This jumpsuit can be worn on date night, a night out on the town with your girlfriends or a company party! It is available in black, champagne color , and a floral print which allows you to wear them at several different occasions. Take a look at it here. It paid off that she went rogue from her team. The team wanted her to do only a tank top and Johanna was determined that she needed to do a piece that would allow her to stand out from a team. Great call Johanna because she is the only one who got bought. Fabulous! Love the versatility.
